About me

Frank Fenken is a photographer from Bremen who has been fascinated by photography since childhood. At the age of 7, he was already roaming the beach and the dunes of Langeoog with his Agfamatic "Ritsch-Ratsch-Klick", photographing whatever he thought was worth seeing.

In the meantime, he takes digital photographs in full format, but has always remained true to analogue photography. A LEICA IIIf camera his constant companion. He prefers to use expired films that produce special Vintage effects.

Inspired by artists such as Peter Keetmann (fotoform/subjektive fotografie), Brassaï, Henri Cartier-Bresson and last but not least Vivian Maier, he has developed his own style. The everyday view of encounters, situations and perspectives that sometimes appear to the viewer only for a moment in passing. Chance encounters that can dissolve immediately. Capturing these moments is his ambition.

His photos can be found at Mpura, among other places, where selected photos are exhibited in large-format light boxes. He has provided the Bremen Focke Museum with photos on the subject of "Pandemic Covid 19". Another selection of his work can be seen at Art`n Card Kunstgalerie Kramer in Bremen's Steintor.
